GoRecell.ca Online Trade-In Policy

By submitting your device for trade-in through our online service at www.gorecell.ca, you agree to the following terms and conditions. This policy outlines our inspection process, shipping responsibilities, and limitations of liability.

Our Commitment to Fairness and Service:

At Gorecell.ca, we promise to process every trade-in to the best of our ability, with a commitment to transparency, fairness in valuation, and exceptional customer service. Our team strives to handle your submission promptly, communicate clearly throughout the process, and resolve any issues with integrity and good faith—we aim to keep our customers happy and maintain our stellar reputation, as it is never in our interest to be unfair. The policies outlined below are primarily designed to protect us in the rare instances of fraudulent or unreasonable activity.

Processing Timeline:

We strive to process each trade-in as quickly as possible, with an average turnaround time of 1-4 business days from receipt. However, processing times may vary depending on quantity or type of device(s) sent, and tends to be longer during peak seasons. While we cannot guarantee a specific timeframe for payment issuance, we provide estimated timelines in our communication emails. If you have concerns about delays, please contact us at support@gorecell.ca for follow-up—we’re here to help.

Payment Delivery:

You may select your preferred payout method—E-Transfer, PayPal, or Cheque—during submission. Electronic payments (E-Transfer or PayPal) are issued to the email address you provide. In the event of delivery issues (e.g., due to a typographical error in the email), the payment may bounce back, allowing us to cancel and resend it upon your prompt contact with our support team. For Cheques, we mail to the address provided; if a Cheque is not received and has not been returned to sender, we will issue a stop-payment order and reissue the payment, deducting the associated fee (approximately $13) from the reissued amount. Gorecell.ca is not liable for any undelivered payments resulting from an incorrect or incomplete email/address provided by you, or for issues arising from your personal banking or account restrictions.

Device Inspection and Valuation:

The model, condition, and overall valuation of your device are subject to our final inspection and determination upon receipt at our facility. We reserve the right to adjust your trade-in offer based on the actual condition (e.g., functionality, cosmetic wear, or any undisclosed damage). If the device does not match your submitted description, we will notify you once inspected and provide options for acceptance of the revised offer, return of the device, or other mutually agreed resolutions.

In the event of a revised offer that you decline, we will cover the return shipping fees, unless the device is a model we do not advertise as eligible for purchase, or if it is blacklisted, or ID-locked (and you are unable to remove the lock remotely). In such cases, return shipping will be at your expense. For devices we deem at high risk of being blacklisted (e.g., due to suspicious serial numbers or provenance), we reserve the right to request additional verification information from you, such as a government-issued ID, receipts, or supplier account statements. You may refuse to provide this information, in which case we may issue a revised (lower) offer or return the device free of charge. While we will make reasonable efforts to return the device and its accessories, we cannot guarantee that all accessories or ancillary items (such as chargers, cables, cases, packaging, or other add-ons) will be returned. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to dispose of or recycle any accessories that we deem to be old, damaged, incomplete, valueless, or excessively burdensome to store or ship. In such cases, no compensation or replacement will be provided for any disposed accessories.

Default Shipping Insurance:

All shipments are automatically insured for up to $100 through the selected courier. In the event of loss or damage during transit, we will submit an insurance claim on your behalf. Reimbursement is limited to $100 and is contingent upon approval by the courier. We cannot guarantee claim outcomes or timelines.

Optional Additional Insurance:

You may opt for enhanced insurance coverage (up to the full trade-in value) by selecting the insurance checkbox during submission. The cost of this additional insurance will be deducted directly from your final trade-in payout. Coverage details and limits are subject to courier’s policy and approval (i.e. Canada Post, Purolator, UPS, FedEx, etc.).

Insurance Claims and Shipment Responsibility:

All insurance claims are fully governed by the courier’s policies and require their explicit approval. We act only as a facilitator in submitting claims and make no guarantees regarding approval, amount, or processing time. You remain fully responsible for properly packaging and shipping your device according to the courier’s guidelines, including using the provided shipping label and secure packaging materials.

Personal Information and Data Erasure:

We strive to erase or reset all personal data and information from devices we receive, in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and applicable privacy laws (such as PIPEDA), before any resale or refurbishment. However, some devices may contain personal information that cannot be fully removed through standard processes, such as physical engravings, laser-etched markings, customizations, or embedded data that is not accessible via software reset. By submitting your device, you consent to our handling, erasure attempts, and potential resale of the device in its received condition, including any such non-removable personal markings or information. You acknowledge that we are not liable for any residual personal data that cannot be completely erased.

Customer Representations and Ownership Transfer

By submitting your device for trade-in, you represent and warrant that: (i) you are the sole and lawful owner of the device, or you have full legal authority to sell or transfer it; (ii) the device is free and clear of any liens, claims, security interests, leases, or financing agreements that could prevent a clean transfer of ownership; (iii) you have full authority to sell the device; and (iv) all information you provided about the device is accurate and complete.

You acknowledge that many devices are subject to financing plans with carriers or third-party lenders. Submitting a financed device is permitted, provided you continue to meet your payment obligations to the lender after the trade-in. You agree that you will not take any action (or fail to take any required action) that causes the device to become blacklisted, locked, or otherwise restricted after we have issued payment.

Upon our issuance of payment (or acceptance of a revised offer), ownership of the device transfers fully and irrevocably to Gorecell.ca. The transaction is considered a final sale. You have no further rights to the device, and you may not cancel, reverse, or reclaim it. We reserve the right to reject any submission, demand repayment of the trade-in amount, or pursue other remedies if we discover that these representations were untrue or if the device becomes blacklisted due to your actions or omissions after payout.

Limitation of Liability:

Gorecell.ca is not liable for any loss, damage, theft, or delay occurring during transit, regardless of cause. By agreeing to this policy, you acknowledge that shipping risks are borne by you, and our role is limited to processing received devices and facilitating claims where applicable. In no event shall GoreCell.ca be responsible for consequential damages, lost data, or any indirect losses related to your device.
